The Best Tooth Restoration Solution
One of the most common chronic health conditions is tooth decay. There are ways to prevent it, and if decay is unavoidable, a dental filling is a cost-effective, natural-looking, and safe remedy. Our fillings are not only some of the most aesthetically pleasing restorations but they are also durable and long-lasting.
Our goal is to create results that are designed to be virtually undetectable. We use tooth-colored fillings as restorations when our patients have:
- Tooth decay
- Chipped teeth
- Cracked teeth
Fluoride is present in the resin used in tooth-colored restorations, which can help prevent decay. The resin looks and feels like natural teeth, and it doesn’t need to be placed near the gum line, which is another benefit that promotes gum health.
What are fillings and restorations?
The most frequent replacement to dental amalgam is composite resin fillings. Because of their hue, they are commonly referred to as “tooth-colored” or “white” fillings. Composite resin fillings are constructed of a plastic (acrylic resin) that has been strengthened with powdered glass filler. The final restoration is generally built up in layers of composite resin, which is then cured with a “ultraviolet light.”
Composite resins can be tinted (shaded) to match the color of the surrounding teeth. There is no metal in this plastic and glass composite, and it may be molded to look like a natural tooth. It’s frequently difficult to detect if a tooth has been filled!
How do i know if a filling is required?
You may require a filling if you are experiencing tooth discomfort. Sensitivity in the teeth is a good sign of decay or fracture. Dr. Linique will lead you to the most appropriate dental therapy for your case when you come in for an evaluation. Fillings are generally the best option for repairing teeth with significant dental decay, cracks, chips, or cavities.
What can i do to prevent cavities?
The greatest strategy to avoid cavities and preserve healthy gums and teeth is to practice good oral hygiene on a daily basis. Here are five techniques to avoid tooth decay and cavities:
1. Visit our office for a thorough oral examination and routine cleanings.
